Ingredients

– 35g light butter (Country Crock brand is recommended)
– 100g unsweetened applesauce
– 1/2 tbsp butter flavoring
– 50g vanilla whey
– 40g coconut flour
– 1/4 tsp baking powder
– Stevia/Splenda to taste
– 46g egg whites
– 1 tbsp rainbow sprinkles
– 66g Greek whipped cream cheese

*Note: When baking with protein powder, we recommend staying away from pure isolate powder because it can create a cardboard texture. Whey/Casein blends usually work best for baking — our favorite is the Devotion Nutrition brand. If you are interested in trying Devotion Nutrition, use “AVATAR” at checkout and save 10%.

Using another brand of protein powder may result in slightly different macros. Click here to get expert tips on baking with other types of protein powder in our free online guide.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, melt butter for 5 seconds in microwave (not completely melted), then add all other ingredients to bowl except for greek whipped cream cheese.
  3. Stir until ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  4. Spray donut pan with non-stick cooking spray, then add batter into 4 of the moulds.
  5. Bake for 10-15 minutes until you can put a toothpick into donuts and it comes out clean.
  6. In a small bowl, combine greek whipped cream cheese with more Stevia/Splenda to taste.
  7. After donuts have cooled, ice them with the cream cheese icing and sprinkle more rainbow sprinkles on top. Cover and refrigerate to store.
