– 40g melting caramel
– 60g light butter
– 100g vanilla whey
– 1 egg
– 1/4 tsp baking powder
– Stevia/Splenda to taste
– 15g Bourbon
– 100g unsweetened applesauce
– 1/4 tsp cinnamon
– a dash of cloves

*Note: When baking with protein powder, we recommend staying away from pure isolate powder because it can create a cardboard texture. Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a bowl, melt caramel and butter together. Caramel will be sticky and might harden again, that is totally fine.
  3. Stir in applesauce and when the mixture is cooled to room temperature, add egg.
  4. Stir in bourbon, whey, baking powder, Stevia/Splenda, and spices until thoroughly mixed.
  5. Pour batter into greased doughnut baking pan (makes 6) and bake for 10 minutes until you can stick a toothpick in and it comes out clean.
  6. Enjoy! Feel free to sprinkle powdered sugar and cinnamon on top for a finishing touch!
