Cinnamon Spice Protein Mug Cake

Measurement Style:


– 75g mashed ripe banana
– 30g coconut flour
– 27g vanilla whey (I used Devotion Nutrition brand)
– Stevia/Splenda to taste (I used about 1 tbsp)
– 1/4 tsp baking powder
– 1/8 tsp nutmeg
– 1/2 tsp cinnamon
– dash of cloves
– 1/4 tsp butter extract
– 50g egg whites
– water to cake batter consistency

*Note: When baking with protein powder, we recommend staying away from pure isolate powder as that does not bake well (turns recipes to a cardboard texture). Whey/Casein blends usually work best for baking — our favorite is Devotion Nutrition brand. Using another brand of protein powder may result in slightly different macros.


  1. Combine all ingredients in bowl, then add water little by little until cake batter consistency is reached.
  2. Place in a large mug sprayed with 0 calorie nonstick cooking spray.
  3. Microwave for 15-30 seconds at a time for about 2-3 minutes (microwave times will vary). You’ll want the middle just slightly gooey!
  4. That’s it! Enjoy the Cinnamon Spice Protein Mug Cake while it’s hot and feel free to add a scoop of low cal vanilla ice cream on top for extra yumminess!
